Technology of Extraction of Fish Oil in Fishmeal Industry:
Fresh fish are sent by spiral conveyer into the cooking machine for stewing, and then delivered to the rolling mill after thoroughly stewed, and the
fishmeal is produced after rolled fish are dried in a dryer. There are oil water and fish scraps in the fish soup, after being extracted, if the fish oil
and fish scraps are sent back to the dryer, it is called through-dewatering, if they are not sent back to be evaporated, it is called half-dewatering.
As normal fishmeal plants do not have sewage treatment device, considering the environmental requirement, most of them adopts the through-
dewatering method. There are various technologies in extracting fish scraps and fish oil from the fish soup, among which a relatively traditional
one is to extract fish oil by several settling ponds, another one is to extract fish scraps by two-phase Horizontal Decanter Centrifuge and then
extract the fish oil by disc stack centrifuge, another one is to extract the fish scraps and fish oil for one time by three-phase Horizontal Decanter
Centrifuge.
Fishmeal is mainly used for fodders and ingredients, thus the content of fish oil and the freshness in final fishmeal will affect its quality and price.
The affecting factors of fishmeal freshness include fish freshness, time to be processed of fish soup, cleanness of fish soup buffer pool, etc.
Factors that influence content of fish oil in fish soup contain the oil content in the fish and extraction rate of fish oil in the fish soup.
The technological advantages and disadvantages of extraction of fish oil in fishmeal industry:
Extraction of oil in settling tank:
Low investment cost, low operation cost and low extraction rate of fish oil. When it is total-dewatered, the inferior freshness is maintained for long
storage period of fish water; and the final content of fat in fishmeal is the highest.
Extraction of oil by solid-bowel scroll centrifuge and disk stack centrifuge
The highest investment cost, high operation cost and high extraction rate of fish oil. When it is total-dewatered, the normal freshness is
maintained for long storage period of fish water; and the final content of fat in fishmeal is low.
Extraction of oil by three-phase solid-bowl centrifuge:
Relatively high investment cost, middle operation cost and high extraction rate of fish oil (specifically determined by the structure type of three-
phase solid-bowl centrifuge), when it is total-dewatered, the best freshness is maintained for shortest storage period of fish water; and the final
content of fat in fishmeal is lower.

Application:
Currently, our three-phase decanter centrifuges are used in the separation of olive oil , soybean oil , oils,
water and slags / dregs in the coal tar industry, the petrochemical industry, the fish powder industry, the swill
oil industry, the electrolytic copper industry, and the waste scraps in the slaughter houses.
